The essential event for everyone looking to grow their travel business
The Maspalomas Conference Centre in Gran Canaria will be the venue for the 2008 Travel Convention, which will be held between Monday 6 October and Wednesday 8 October.
"The Maspalomas Conference Centre provides us with another stunning business setting which is perfect for the UK's premier travel event of the year," said Mark Tanzer, ABTA's Chief Executive.
Although the destination is one important factor for delegates, so are the amenities and the ease of access for the Hotels etc. Eight of the ten Convention Hotels are within walking distance of the Conference Centre and just 20 minutes from the airport. The Gran Canaria Tourist Board is providing 200 free rooms for travel agent delegates.
Delegates can fly to Gran Canaria on either 4 or 5 October, and in addition to regular flights, special charters will be provided for delegates travelling out on 5 and 6 October and returning on 9 October.
Roberto Moreno Diaz, President of the Gran Canaria Tourist Board said: "Gran Canaria is very much looking forward to hosting The Travel Convention this year as we believe it is an excellent opportunity to present our destination to the best of the UK travel industry. We hope they will be impressed by the improvements we have made and become excellent ambassadors for the island."
Innovation is the central issue in economic prosperity, which is why we’ve made ‘innovation’ the theme of the 2008 Travel Convention.
Not only will the business sessions be relevant to delegates from every sector of the travel industry, much of the innovative talk will be followed up with the kind of practical advice you’ll need to help you achieve innovation for yourself.
Now, more than ever, it’s a question of survival – which is why the Convention will be inspiring, informative, thought provoking and above all, innovative.
