Make Your People Innovative
Tuesday 7 October
12:25-12:50
Henry Stewart, Founder and Chief Executive of Happy
Henry Stewart is a happy man and his views on
innovation may surprise you. He believes in making
mistakes! “If we really want people to try new
approaches we need to encourage new ideas and
experiments. If there are no mistakes, there isn't
much learning going on. I believe the biggest thing
that gets in the way of innovation is blame.
It prevents people innovating.”
Happy is a small business in a crowded market.
Despite the competition, it charges double the rates
of its biggest competitor. On top of that, the IT
training industry has contracted by about 30% over
the last six years. Despite the adverse economic
conditions, Happy’s business has doubled. Henry
Stewart is clearly doing something right!
He’ll explain how this philosophy has worked for
him in commercial terms, and more importantly
how you can make it work for you.
