Much has been said about the future of
travel and tourism. Many views have been
expressed, eyebrows raised and doom
mongering allowed to flourish. Yet most
of these discussions turn out to be little
more than hot air.
Tourism 2023 is all about doing rather
talking. It’s a 15 year plan which is funded
by ABTA, TUI Travel, Thomas Cook, DEFRA,
Co-operative Travel Group, British Airways,
P&O/Carnival and The Travel Foundation.
It will take a look at the big picture and
aims to answer the big questions, such as
how to deal with the increasing focus on
carbon emissions and how the industry
can respond to changing customer
expectations.
