The Travel Convention 2008

This year's Travel Convention will take place from Monday 6 to Wednesday 8 October, in Gran Canaria.

The Convention will be held in the coastal resort town of Meloneras. Just a 20 minute drive from the airport, the area provides the perfect setting for the event.

The Maspalomas Convention Centre has just been completely renovated, providing a flexible, light and airy meeting space where all the facilities are situated on one floor.

The eight Convention Hotels all lie within a 5-15 minute walk from the Centre, with two additional properties being located further afield for those delegates who want to get away from the hubbub. Gran Canaria has reserved 200 rooms for up to four nights, completely free of charge for hosted agents, with the option to participate in a fun-packed fam trip!

Many of the Hotels lead onto The Boulevard, a stunning promenade with immaculate botanical borders where restaurants, bars, cafés and shops are open throughout the day and evening.

The social events will also be held within easy walking distance of all the main Hotels. The weather will be a perfect 18-25 degrees and the Gran Canaria Tourism Board and ABTA will be encouraging delegates to take an extended break on the island to experience all it has to offer the British holidaymaker, or to simply relax before or after the official Convention activities.

Combined with another terrific programme of business sessions and even more Master Classes, including a special 'stream' of sessions for Agents, there's never been a better reason for going to The Travel Convention!

Further Details

Further details and the full Programme of Events will be announced in April. Registration and accommodation bookings open on Thursday 1 May.
