new for 2007
We’ve been asking you what you want from the industry’s premier annual gathering. The answers have come back loud and clear and we’ve made sure that what you want is The Travel Convention.
You asked for more free time to relax and network, so the working days will start later at 10.00am, and end earlier at 4.30pm.
The Talk Zone is universally popular but you want to be able to talk knowing that you aren’t missing a valuable presentation or master class. So in Tenerife there will be no clashes, no missed opportunities – you’ll be able to talk and listen.
You’ve suggested that all the sessions focus sharply on real travel and business issues. So that’s what they will do – every presentation and every master class.
The Convention website – www.thetravelconvention.com – won’t just be an online brochure and booking facility. Instead, it will provide a year-round forum for the ongoing debate of key industry issues aired at the Convention and at ABTA's Talking Travel roadshows. It will also offer a host of new features for delegates – so watch this space.
And let us entertain you...the sport will tee of with the golf tournament on Tuesday 27 November. The tennis tournament and football match will also take place that day and there will be special discounts available for those wishing to relax and enjoy some of the most luxurious Spas on the island.
That evening there will be a First & Five Timers ‘Tapas’ Reception and the opening of the ever-popular Irish Bar, which will be expanded to include both quiet areas and live music.
This year there will be a single Mega Party courtesy of our Convention hosts on Wednesday evening. And to help you meet fellow delegates staying at your hotel, each property will be hosting its own pre-welcome party cocktail reception.
On Thursday night, for the first time a partnership with the Telegraph Media Group brings the prestigious Telegraph Travel Awards to the Convention. As the biggest and most reliable poll of British travellers, these awards—now in their 9th year—will widen the Convention attendance, attract industry leaders and create an even greater opportunity for delegate networking. Later in the evening you’ll have time to dine with friends and business colleagues.
The Convention will end on Friday lunchtime with a Farewell Brunch and a guest speaker.
